Essential gear donated to Emakhazeni cops

Trans African Concessions (TRAC) prides itself on the solid relationships it has with the communities and stakeholders along the N4 Toll Route, from the east of Tshwane in Gauteng to Maputo in Mozambique.

Apart from offering world class infrastructure and ease-of-travel, maintaining the N4 safe is a top priority for TRAC – a principle that has led the company to forming strong ties with law enforcement authorities in the various regions along the route, one of which is the Emakhazeni municipal area.

In view of this TRAC recently assisted the SAPS in Waterval Boven and Machadodorp by donating several essential items in a bid to make the jobs of the local policemen easier. These items included 75 SAPS reflective vests and 10 Maglite torches with rechargeable battery kits.

Working on a road and in rural areas at night, especially in challenging conditions and situations requires superior, easy-to-use lighting equipment and high visibility clothing. Conventional gear simply doesn’t do the job which led Colonel Braam Louw of Waterval Boven SAPS to ask TRAC for assistance.

The handover took place during a station meeting which was attended by more than 40 SAPS members as well as TRAC representatives. According to Colonel Louw the torches and vests will help his team perform better and thus be of even greater service to their community.
